I ordered a record from an Amazon seller called Wooden Nickel Music based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana and this is how it was packaged. Beyond the fact that it seems like the wrapper folded the newspaper so that the Weekend Arts section was on top, the box also contained these little single sections that were tightly rolled up only for my wonderment. The fact that the packager spent time making something noteworthy that they knew would be torn apart and thrown away has been on my mind for two days. I rarely put this much effort into things that are veritably important, let alone on trash for a stranger. I’ve been imagining tracking the person down who is responsible for this folding and this rolling and following them around with a video camera. I’d like to believe that it’s not company policy, just something this person wants to do. I want to see this person’s fridge and their sock drawer and I want to see how they treat their friends, if they have any. Unless it’s a “scrapbooking” “person” who’s responsible for this; if that’s the case, I need no further information and this packaging is obnoxious.
